OLD FILM VS NEW FILM
They say old is gold and as for me, I prefer old movies to new ones. In my opinion old films have great stories, offer originality, have real sets and actors working in it but the new films have only actions and romance. Too much unnecessary information per se.
For an interesting show go for The GodFather (1972), unless your taste of movies is very different, say you don't like an insight to the mafia world, amazing dialogues and intense plotting. Or maybe Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator (1940) where Chaplin conveys his distaste towards Nazism in a funny and clever way but still brings out his message.
There's no denying that movies today are more violent and sexual than ever before. But we still watch them. We enjoy the stunts, the lies that conceal the greenscreen, new themes that leave us in wonder and fashionable sets with the same characters we see walking on the Red carpet year in year out.
Today's films focus on budget, release and distribution, more employment to people related in the film industry and things which were taboo in the old days so people of today are aware of things. Some new movies are good but old movies are evergreen.
One good movie I have watched recently and liked is Enola Holmes (2020). It is wonderful, charming and very mysterious but the ending is kind of vague, or rather too shallow for my liking. You can check it out if you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes and his sister.
